Dr. King will need to cut into the gums to remove the tooth, which can be a relatively invasive procedure and requires extensive healing. Simple extractions, however, are the removal of teeth that are above the gum line and easily accessible. Simple extractions heal faster and need just a few minutes to complete once the patient is sedated and anesthetized.
