What is involved in the placement of porcelain veneers?
Placing porcelain veneers will typically require at least two appointments at Kitty Hawk Dental Care in Livermore. During the initial appointment, Dr. Kimberly King will determine if veneers are suitable for the patient and will go over the various aspects of treatment. Once it is determined that veneers are an ideal solution, the teeth will be prepared for placement. That involves a small amount of enamel being removed from the front surfaces of the teeth to provide a more secure bond for veneer placement. Impressions will be made, which will be used by our dental laboratory to create custom-made veneers. In the meantime, temporary veneers may be placed on the teeth.
At the second appointment, Dr. King will remove the temporary veneers, and she will check the permanent veneers for fit. Once she is confident that the veneers fit perfectly, they will be bonded to the teeth using a strong dental cement. Patients will then be able to leave our office with a brand-new and beautiful smile!
