What Implant Services Do You Offer?

At Kitty Hawk Dental Care, we offer a wide range of implant solutions to meet the varying needs of patients suffering from tooth loss, and we can complete your entire procedure under one roof. We offer implant placement and restoration with both single-tooth and full-arch implants, as well as mini implants, bone grafting, and implant maintenance services.

What Can I Expect During Implant Placement?

This is the initial process of surgically placing the dental implant (which is a small, screw-shaped piece of titanium) into your gums and jaw bone. The procedure is performed after numbing your mouth, often with sedation, which ensures that your treatment is as painless as possible. Once the implant heals and bonds with the surrounding tissue, your implant treatment will be completed with a variety of different dental prostheses, tailored to your specific needs.

How Do Single-Tooth Implants Work?

A single-tooth implant uses a single dental implant and a dental crown (custom false tooth) to restore a single missing tooth. The implant is placed in the gum and jaw, then allowed to heal. During this time, a custom crown will be built for the tooth. Once the implant has healed, the crown will be placed, restoring your smile.

What Are Full-Arch Implants?

Full-arch implants consist of a series of 4-6 implants that are placed in the upper, lower, or both arches of the teeth. Once healed, these implants can be restored with an implant-supported denture, restoring your entire arch of teeth as a more permanent alternative to traditional dentures.

What Is A Dental Implant Restoration?

Restorations are the dental prostheses used to restore your teeth. For a single-tooth restoration, a crown (false tooth) is usually used. Dental bridges can also be attached to multiple implants, and a series of 4-6 implants can be used to support a fixed or removable implant-supported denture.

How Do I Care for My Dental Implant?

Dental implant maintenance consists of coming to our Livermore dental office every six months to have your implant examined and cleaned. This can be done as part of a routine checkup, and ensures your implant remains healthy and strong.

Are Mini Implants Right for Me?

Mini implants are about half the size of traditional dental implants and their small size means they can be placed more easily, even if you have experienced bone loss in your jaw. Typically, a series of multiple mini implants will be used to support a bridge or implant-supported denture, but mini implants can be used for single-tooth restorations in some cases.

Do I Need A Bone Graft?

A bone graft is a procedure that uses external bone material to strengthen the site of a dental implant before it’s placed. This may be required if you have experienced bone resorption after tooth loss. The additional bone is placed directly into your jaw bone to add to its structure and create a stable space for your implant to rest. After the jaw bone heals, the area will be strengthened, and an implant can be placed.

Am I A Good Candidate For Implants?

As long as your mouth is healthy and free of major issues like gum disease or tooth decay, and you have a relatively strong jaw, you are a good candidate for dental implants. Contact us now at (925) 371-8880 to learn more or to set up a free consultation.
